French regulator AFMM launched a new version of their Code of Ethics Internet+Mobile. You can download the latest version here. An English version will be available soon.
- Article 1.C (p.12) – Presentation of the essential features of the Service
The content delivered on the service must be the main purpose of the service. Your landing page must present clearly the features and the number of content available. (detailing them in the footer is not enough).
- Article 1 (p.22) – Creation of an account and the provision of a “Mon Compte” space in the case of subscription services
The account purpose is to identify the user. It allows him to access the service he subscribed.
The account creation can be done before or after the payment asking the user his email or his MSISDN. If the user doesn’t supply a login, the editor must create one for the user.
The user credentials + link to access the service must be sent by SMS or by email (if the user filled out his MSISDN).
The “Mon compte” link must appear in all service pages and there must appear:
- Information regarding the subscription (active since…)
- Contact information (CS french helpline, email or postal adress)
- Unsubscribe link “se désabonner”
The unsubscritpion flow on Orange and SFR must be performed in 1 click (not redirected to the carrier selfcare page).
For Bouygues Telecom, the user must be redirected to the carrier selfcare.
